If reports are to be believed Duncan James of the famous boy band Blue hasn’t been keeping up payments on his former luxury Costa del Sol holiday home.

The Blue star is being sued for $35,250 (£23,500) in maintenance charges on a four-bedroom apartment near Marbella on the Costa del Sol, which James purchased in 2006.
He sold it over a year ago, but owners at the Majestic Hills development insists he still owes the sum.
A spokesperson for James says, “That matter is in the hands of his lawyers, who are working out the exact amount owed which, when agreed, he will duly pay.”

James is allegedly being sued for £23,500 of underpaid maintenance charges on a four-bedroom luxury apartment near Marbella on the Costa del Sol coast purchased by the pop star back in 2006.

The apartment was sold over 12 months ago however the owners of the prestigious Majestic Hills development  where the apartment is located insist that payments from when James owned it are still unpaid.

Madrid remains the no.1 location for most Ferrari owners, while Barcelona and Marbella are level at second in the list of buyers.

If rumours of a recent liposuction operation on her bottom and thighs are true then it certianly seems to have done a good job as the star strutted her stuff around the bar area.

the Costa del Sol

Despite the poor exchange rate now really could be the perfect time to pick up a bargain holiday home in the Costa del Sol. With the Spanish property market struggling to establish any form of growth many estate agents are persuading sellers to lower the price to achieve a sale.

The poor exchange rate from Sterling to Euro also favours Brits looking to sell in Spain, as they can afford to reduce the price and still make a profit on their property.

Gibraltar has become an increasingly popular choice for Britons high earners who can take advantage of the lenient tax rules. Unlike popular tax havens such as Monte Carlo and Switzerland that require at least 6 months residence a year, the weathly only need to spend one day a year in Gibraltar in order to benefit from the taxes laws. These include a maximum collective family income tax of £22,000 a year and the ability to work, trade companies and draw salaries from Gibraltar.

Gibraltar is also proving popular with British expat living on the Costa del Sol who can enjoy shopping in popular British shops such as Morrisons and M&S whilst enjoying good savings compared to those within Spain.

Over half a million Britons own a holiday home abroad with almost one third of those being in Spain, the Costa del Sol in particular is a popular destination. However popular areas for Brits to buy abroad have suffered as a knock on effect of the downturn of the domestic property market.

This has resulted in a fall in demand and lead to discounts and reductions being placed on luxury villas and apartments across the Costa del Sol. The reductions have not had a huge impact on property sales as despite the lower prices poor exchange rates have left relative prices high.
