The poor exchange rate from Sterling to Euro also favours Brits looking to sell in Spain, as they can afford to reduce the price and still make a profit on their property.

Over half a million Britons own a holiday home abroad with almost one third of those being in Spain, the Costa del Sol in particular is a popular destination. However popular areas for Brits to buy abroad have suffered as a knock on effect of the downturn of the domestic property market.

This has resulted in a fall in demand and lead to discounts and reductions being placed on luxury villas and apartments across the Costa del Sol. The reductions have not had a huge impact on property sales as despite the lower prices poor exchange rates have left relative prices high.
