If you’re planning to drive to Spain, or drive a hire car in Spain it’s worth checking out the Spanish driving laws before heading to the Costa del Sol to ensure you don’t get caught out. There are one or two rules that might take you by surprise and a recent survey carried out by Sainsbury’s Finance found out that as many as one in three Brits could be breaking the law when driving in Spain.
One rule that is often overlooked is the importance of carrying a warning triangle in your car at all times in case of a breakdown. Another unusual rule affects drivers that wear spectacles, who must have a spare with them in their car at all times in case the original pair become damaged.

It seems that one resort on Spain’s sunny coastline has had enough of scantly clad British teenagers walking the streets and have now vowed to clamp down on such behaviour. Salou on the Costa Daurada to the south of Barcelona has issued a new law that means anyone walking the streets or visiting bars and restaurants, other than those on the beachfront, deemed to be inappropriately dressed could face a fine of up to £245!
The new ruling comes after locals complained about the rowdy behaviour of British students that attended the Saloufest festival during the Easter holidays. It appears that Spaniards are becoming increasingly frustrated that British holidaymakers think it’s appropriate to walk around the town centre wearing nothing but beachwear.

The Costa del Sol continues to be a popular choice for Brits looking to head abroad in search of some much needed sunshine. Recent figures released by online flight comparison website SkySkanner revealed that Malaga Airport was the second most searched destination during the past three months.
As the British economy takes a steady climb out of the recession that dogged last summer causing many Brits to rethink their annual holiday plans and stay in the UK, more of us are begining to travel abroad again with the promise of lower prices and guaranteed sun.
The pound is currently at its strongest position in two years against the Euro and with a recent survey revealing that Spain is the best value European holiday destination its easy to see why Spain and indeed the Costa del Sol are at the top of many peoples destination choices.

Despite the poor exchange rate now really could be the perfect time to pick up a bargain holiday home in the Costa del Sol. With the Spanish property market struggling to establish any form of growth many estate agents are persuading sellers to lower the price to achieve a sale.
The poor exchange rate from Sterling to Euro also favours Brits looking to sell in Spain, as they can afford to reduce the price and still make a profit on their property.
